JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Regional Airport continued to operate without disruption during the recent federal government shutdown, thanks to the dedication of its local TSA team.
While many across the country experienced delays and uncertainty, TSA officers in Jamestown remained on duty, maintaining consistent service and ensuring the safety of travelers moving through the airport.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have a dedicated TSA workforce at Jamestown Regional Airport,” said Airport Director Katie Hemmer. “Even while working without pay during the shutdown, we did not see a change in service.”
Payroll for TSA workers has since been processed, but local leaders say the moment highlights the strength of the people behind the airport experience. “Our TSA team plays a quiet but important role in the visitor experience,” said Emily Bivens, Jamestown Tourism Executive Director. “Their steady presence during the shutdown reflects the kind of community Jamestown is – reliable, welcoming, and committed to taking care of people.”
Jamestown Tourism extends its appreciation to the TSA personnel who continued to support safe and reliable travel in the community.
