Daniel S. Hovde, 77, Nome, ND passed away March 30, 2026.  He was born to Sigvald and Alice (Frydenlund) Hovde on April 23, 1948.  He grew up on the farm northwest of Nome and attended Nome School.

December 23, 1965, he married Rochelle Brewer.  The couple raised three sons:  Dean, Todd and Clint.  Daniel worked for area farmers as well as his father.  Sigvald passed away in 1978 and in 1979, Daniel began his solo farming career, retiring in 2011.

Daniel is survived by his children, Dean (Amber) of Lisbon, ND, Todd of Breckenridge, MN, and Clint of Valley City, ND and a granddaughter, Alicea Hovde of Lisbon.  He is also survived by his siblings, Gary (Joy) of St. Cloud, MN and Diane (Larry) Baarstad of Valley City as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rochelle; parents; father and mother-in-law, Bill and Marilyn Pritchert; and a sister, Rosie.

The funeral service for Daniel Hovde will be held in the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home Chapel (Valley City) on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 10:30 AM.  Traditions Funeral Services of Valley City is assisting his family with arrangements.  An online guestbook is available at www.lerudmathias.com
