JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County 4-H Communication Arts & Project Expo was held Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the NDSU Extension Office in Jamestown.
Five 4-H members competed in the Project Expo, which features a display table showcasing a project completed by the exhibitor. Participants are judged on presentation setup and responses to judges’ questions. Age divisions include Cloverbud (ages 5–7), Junior (ages 8–12), and Senior (ages 13–18). All Project Expo participants are eligible to compete at the state competition in July during the North Dakota State Fair. Judges for the Project Expo were Knoah Weber and Riley Widman. Communication Arts is a contest with multiple divisions and the same three age groups. Cloverbuds
gain confidence and experience by performing a short story, poem, or pledge and receive a ribbon or medal along with a t-shirt. Junior and Senior participants receive medals or ribbons for Grand and Reserve placings.
The High Point Junior and High Point Senior awards are determined by totaling the scores from a participant’s top three speeches. High point winners receive a choice of a custom belt buckle, leather padfolio, or leather pillow.
Judges for the Communication Arts contest were Teresa Olson, Kathryn Hetletvedt, Warren Abrahamson, and Brenda Jarski Weber. Room helpers included Sandy Sodawasser and Martha Bjorgaard. Sponsors who made t-shirts, medals, and high point awards possible were Dale and Ann Marks, Dakota Valley Electric Cooperative, and Northern Plains Electric Cooperative.
