Valley City earned a Senior Day win over Larimore, using a balanced offensive effort and five solid innings from Cole Bullinger to secure a 14-4 victory.

Larimore struck first in the opening inning. Manny Gomez delivered a two-out single to give the Polar Bears a 1-0 lead.

Valley City responded quickly. Corbyn Powell led off with a single and later scored on a triple by Jack Samuelson to tie the game. The Hi-Liners added to their lead with RBI singles from Leighton Hendrickson and Chase Coghlan to make it 4-1.

Larimore answered in the second inning, scoring twice with two outs. Baron Burns hit an RBI triple, and Levi Warnke followed with an RBI single to cut the deficit to 4-3.

Valley City had a chance to extend its lead in the bottom of the inning after loading the bases with no outs, but came away empty following a lineout double play and a strikeout.

Bullinger settled in from there, delivering two scoreless innings to maintain the lead.

The Hi-Liners added insurance with RBIs from Samuelson and Andrew Sykora to build a 7-3 advantage. Larimore pulled within 7-4 before Valley City broke the game open in the fifth inning.

The Hi-Liners scored five runs in the frame, with Powell, Samuelson, Sykora, Hendrickson and Coghlan each driving in a run to extend the lead to 12-4.

Elijah Praska pitched a scoreless sixth inning, setting up the run-rule finish. Samuelson drove in his fourth run of the game with a double and later scored on a fielding error to end the game at 14-4.

Valley City will face South Border at 4:30 p.m. in its next game.
