
JAMESTOWN – Strengthening their hold on fourth place in the WDA standings, Jamestown Blue Jays Girls Soccer defeated Minot North 3-2 Friday at Rotary Field.
With four regular season matches remaining, Jamestown (6-5-1, 6-4-1 WDA) has 19 points, six points ahead of fifth-place Century.
The first two goals came less than two minutes apart for the Blue Jays. Maggie Godboldt, set up by Hannah Attleson, scored in the ninth minute. Amelia Newman, from a Layla Becker assist, made the Jamestown lead 2-0 in the 10th minute.
Brengiei Lonning scored in the 29th minute for Minot North (8-3-1, 8-3-1) and Jamestown led 2-1 at halftime.
Quinn Biloff restored a two-goal lead for JHS in the 51st minute as Attleson picked up her second assist.
Anistyn Perrin brought the Sentinels within a goal in the 59th minute.
Blue Jays’ goalkeeper Belle Sjostrom made seven saves.
Jamestown will play Legacy on Monday in Bismarck.
