VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Several Veteran Organizations will be conducting Military Honors on Memorial Day, May 25th in remembrance of those who have died for their country. Military Honors will consist of wreath placement, prayer, gun salute and taps.

Military Honors Schedule: 9:00am Hillside Cemetery, 9:15am St Catherine’s Cemetery. 9:45am Oriska Cemetery, 10:00am St Bernards Cemetery, 10:20am Memory Gardens Cemetery, 10:50am Woodbine Cemetery, 11:15am Eagles (Riverside)

After rendering Military Honors, performances consisting of Patriotic Music will be conducted by the Valley City Community Band, and the Valley City High School Band indoors at the Eagles Club at 11:30am. Attendees are then invited for lunch starting at noon.

The Eckelson-Sanborn Memorial Day program will be held Monday, May 25th, starting at 9:30 a.m. at the Fairview and Sacred Heart cemeteries as well as the Sanborn Veterans Park. Treats will be served at the Sanborn Community Center. All are welcome.

On Monday, May 25th, Memorial Day activities will start at 9am in the Gladstone Inn of Jamestown. The Jamestown Patriotic council will hold a remembrance service with a speaker and the Drum and Bugle Corps. Following the service there will be a wreath lowering at the Nickeus Park Bridge. Remembrances at Fort Seward and city cemeteries in Jamestown. Starting at 11:30am there will be a luncheon at the All Vets Club in Jamestown for a free will offering. Please take some time out of your long weekend to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.

A MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY MAY 25TH AT THE PINGREE COMMUNITY CENTER AT 10:30 AM. AFTER THE SERVICE, ATTENDEES ARE ENCOURAGED TO MEET AT THE DEPOT TO MARCH TO THE CEMETERY TO DECORATE THE MILITARY VETERANS GRAVES. AFTER THE DECORATION OF THE GRAVES, A NOON MEAL WILL BE SERVED, CATERED BY THE GRATEFUL PLATE. EVERYONE IS INVITED TO PINGREE TO HONOR AND REMEMBER OUR VETERANS DURING THIS SPECIAL WEEKEND.

Don’t forget about the Memorial Day Color Guard on Monday, May 25th in Leal, North Dakota at 11am followed by BBQ’s at the Leal Fire Hall. The Color Guard will be at the Cemetery. The potluck will be in the Leal Fire Hall after the ceremony. Please bring a dish to pass and share with everyone. All are welcome.
