ND – (NewsDakota.com) Authorities say a 53 year-old man escaped serious injury after he crashed his vehicle into a slough about 3 miles east of Nome Tuesday morning in Barnes County just before 8:30am.

The Highway Patrol says alcohol was a factor in the crash which remains under investigation.

According to the Barnes County jail inmate roster DUI and Driving Under Suspension charges are pending against Charles Clifford Herzog. He was not injured in the crash.
