N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Regional Hospital (JRMC) has led the way for many things including the new 3D Mammography technology.

Now they’ve introduced Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) to the area.

As part of the Wound Center, HBOT has become a proven alternative medicine for numerous wounds and injuries.

Annette Hazelton is the JRMC Clinic Manager.

Because this technology is only available in Jamestown for the entire state, individuals have been referred from to the hospital from all across North Dakota to use the hyperbaric chamber.

Amanda Lausch, FNP has worked with the hyperbaric chamber since the JRMC received it in November 2016.

She says that when done correctly, the therapy will accelerate the healing process in the human body. It’s used for conditions including Carbon Monoxide Poisoning, Thermal Burns, and Osteomyelitis.

HBOT has been around for quite some time. Advances in modern medicine have made the therapy become accessible by many more. Lausch pointed out that the procedure is very safe.

Lausch says she would like to see it be used more and individuals who want to learn more can always visit the JRMC Wound Center or call to receive more information.
