N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Regional Medical Center, Central Valley Health and Women’s Way have partnered once more for “No Excuses.”
“This amazing program provides 3D Mammograms at no cost to interested individuals,” stated Katie Ryan-Anderson, Marketing Manager for the JRMC.
According to the Stutsman County Community Health Assessment and Community Plan, women in Stutsman County are less likely to get a mammogram than women in other parts of the state.
“Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in Stutsman County for individuals over the age of 45,” Ryan-Anderson reports. “The goal of the two day program is to encourage women to receive this important preventative care. No Excuses includes both a pap test and a 3D Mammogram.”
The group hopes to serve about 20 women, removing any barrier to care. This includes finances, childcare or transportation. The group will even be offering appointments in the evening to accommodate women who work during the day. Last year was a success for the group.
“Last year, we ran No Excuses for one day and served 14 women. That’s the most we can do in one day. This year, we’ve added a second day in hopes of helping more,” Ryan-Anderson pointed out.
The Freedom Resource Center is also stepping forward to ensure that there is handicap accessibility for those who want to participate in the “No Excuses” Program.
To participate, an individual needs to schedule at 701-952-4886. The “No Excuses” program will be held Thursday, November 2nd from 2 PM to 6 PM and Friday, November 3rd from 9 AM to 4 PM.
