(NewsDakota.com) What a difference a year makes.
In 2016, the Lisbon High volleyball team was the 11th seed in Class B Region I. This year, they finished third, and with a three sets to none victory in the Region I Tournament Quarterfinals Monday night against Enderlin, the Broncos are one victory away from the Regional Championship.
Lisbon (27-9) won by scores of 25-16, 25-15 and 25-23. Senior Elizabeth Lyons had a team high 16 kills, surpassing the 1200 mark for her career. Lyons, along with Preslie Ercink, Grace Elijah and Hannah Opp each had an ace in the victory.
Enderin (23-11) had a pair of aces from Faith Christensen and Danica Wendel. Christensen and Miah Bartholomay lead the Eagles in kills with five apiece.
Lisbon will play #2 Northern Cass Tuesday night around 7:30. The Jaguars swept #7 Wyndmere-Lidgerwood earlier Monday.
Coverage of Lisbon/Northern Cass will start around 7 to 7:15 p.m. Tuesday on Q101.1 FM and NewsDakota.com.
