N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Commission reconvened for the first time in 2018 to address some items.
Discussion for the approval of anticipated 2018 Stutsman County wages was held. The county also approved of State mileage rate increases and discussed different Senate Bills.
One item that came up for discussion was zoning for a possible medical marijuana distribution and manufacturing center. Interim County Auditor Nicole Meland reports that a draft is being put together by County Tax Director Tyler Perleberg.
Meland says the current plan is to have something in place by April to accommodate these facilities in Stutsman County. Chairman Mark Klose inquired about not zoning for the dispensary in the County.
Meland stated that it was not recommended.
Once licensing fees have been paid by an interested party, the state will determine where the dispensary would set up in the state. Meland estimates that the fee to apply for a dispensary is around $100,000. The commission made no motion.
