FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Valley City was on both sides of a blowout Tuesday night at Fargo South. Behind 3 double figure scorers,the girls won their season high third straight 74-39. The Bruins had a 19 point run early in the 1st half to take the boys’ game 78-48. Valley City will get some time off before their next games, both teams travel to Wahpeton on January 26th.

Valley City 74 vs. Fargo South 39

Valley City overcame a slow start and after 3 lead changes and tie went up 39-23 at halftime. Fargo South poured in 6 quick point in the second half to get within 10 at 39-29, The Hi-Liners pulled away with a 22-1 run.

Taryn Dieterle had a game high 18 points. Josie Berntson produced 14 points off the bench and Mackenzie Pederson had 11 points. Valley City shot 65% and out rebounded South 23 to 7.

Adie Wagner led The Bruins with 9 points, Anna Brakke added 8 and Sami Hoselton 5.

BBB: Fargo South 78 vs. Valley City 48

The Hi-Liners never held a lead and struggle to generate offensive in the second half. They were down 38-24 at halftime and were outscored 40-24 in the second half.

Matthew Lyter had a big game for Valley City scoring 20 points, Avery Bennefeld had 8 points and Riley Miller 7. South was led by Kiir Mabor who scored 19 points, Charles Bennington had 15 and Dawson Weisenberger 12.
