(NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department recovered a stolen vehicle Wednesday after the victim followed the alleged thieves from his home in Barnes County.
The victim reported his vehicle stolen out of his yard in the early morning hours of April 4, and said he was in pursuit of a car that the suspects had come to his house in.
Stutsman County deputy Ramone Gumke says the chase was coming toward Jamestown so the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department, Jamestown Police and North Dakota Highway Patrol responded.
Gumke says the victim lost the vehicle he was following, but the suspect’s vehicle was eventually located unoccupied in Jamestown. He says the stolen vehicle was located at a residence about 5 miles south of Interstate 94 on County Road 62.
The case remains under investigation by the Barnes County Sheriff’s Department.
