CITY (NewsDakota.com) U.S. Army Corps of Engineers St. Paul District commander Col. Michael Price and Valley City Mayor Bob Werkhoven will celebrate a new partnership between the Corps and Valley City by participating in a signing ceremony of a cost sharing agreement today at 1 p.m. in City Hall.
By signing this document, the two partners will be entering into a formal agreement to study flood risk management for the area. The flood risk management feasibility study will investigate ways to reduce average annual flood damages to public safety in Valley City.
In other city news the board of commissioners will hold a special meeting to approve a $1 million loan from the Public Works Electric Department for the phase one property city buy-out project. The meeting will be held today in the city hall commission chamber at 3:30pm.
