N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The gazebo in Jamestown is about to get a serious overhaul.

Stutsman Couty Memorial Museum Board of Directors has approved construction starts on a full-scale gazebo modeled after the turn-of-the-century gazebo in downtown Jamestown.

Thanks to sizeable grants from the Jamestown Rotary Club and from Rotary International, Jamestown Community Foundation and the Centennial Gazebo Fund will be able to proved the materials needed to undertake the project.

The Gazebo was originally built in 1883 and was used for everything from political rallies, weddings, bands, parties and weddings.

“We want this new gazebo to look like the old one and we want it used, not just a tourist attraction” said Alden Kollman, Treasuer for the Museum Board of Directors.
