JAMESTOWN, N.D. (JimmieAthletics.com) – The University of Jamestown fell behind 28-0 in the second quarter to Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) University before getting on the board late in the first half, losing to the Tigers 41-21 at Rollie Greeno Field.

The loss drops the Jimmies to 1-6 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference and 2-7 overall. Dakota Wesleyan improves to the same records, 1-6 in the GPAC and 2-7 in all contests.

Daniel Libot caught two scoring passes, 35 and 9 yards, from quarterback Shaye Slaughter as DWU took a 21-0 lead at the 9:51 mark of the first half.

Luke Loudenburg ran in from six yards out to make it 28-0 with 3:42 before halftime. The Jimmies came back with a scoring drive of their own, covering 75 yards on 11 plays, capped off by a Jordan Mann(JR/Bismarck, N.D.) to Barry Williams Jr. (FR/Las Vegas, Nev.) pass for 19 yards. Kai Madela (FR/Henderson, Nev.)’s extra point made it 28-7.

The Tigers needed just 2:01 in the third quarter to push their lead to 34-7, as Slaughter found Spencer Neugebauer for a 46-yard touchdown.

Mann rushed from one yard out to make it 34-14 at the end of the third quarter.

Loudenburg found the end zone for the second time in the game with 8:51 remaining, as his five-yard run made it 41-14.

Tanner Mathern (SO/Edgeley, N.D.) had UJ’s final touchdown of the day, running in from two yards out with 28 ticks left to make it 41-21.

Mann threw for a career-high 291 yards, completing 18-of-34 passes. Jamestown was unable to get much going on the ground, rushing for just 118 yards on 45 carries. Allen Jevning (SO/Brainerd, Minn.) had 36 yards on eight attempts with Jimmy Hatch (JR/Sacramento, Calif.) adding 30 yards on 11 carries. Williams caught seven passes for 129 yards and James Hagen (SO/Henderson, Nev.) had 58 yards on two catches.

Caleb Ellingson (SR/Jamestown, N.D.) led the defense with 13 tackles, sharing a sack with Gavin Pancirov (JR/Las Vegas, Nev.). Zach Phillips(SR/Greenfield, Ind.) also recorded a sack. Morgan Borland(SR/Brownsville, Texas) had two of his six tackles go for a loss, while Jordan Olson (FR/Prior Lake, Minn.) and Ben Steinolfson (SR/Steele, N.D.) also finished with six total stops.

Next up for the Jimmies is their final road game of the season, a 1:00 p.m. kickoff at Hastings (Neb.)
