JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jeremy Williams took the opening kick-off 90-yards and Jamestown’s defense pitched a shutout in a 20-0 win over Devils Lake in the Class AA football quarterfinals.

A rematch with Shanley looms on Saturday with a trip to the Dakota Bowl on the line. The Deacons beat Jametsown 27-26 at Ernie Gates Field back in August.

“This is what we wanted,” Coach Bill Nelson said after the game. “Everyone in that locker room wants this next one.”

Following, the return touchdown from Williams, the Jays defense got a three-and-out. Tommy Falk hit Carter Moser for an 18-yard touchdown on fourth down on the ensuing drive.

On the final drive of the second quarter, Chris Erickson ran one in from a yard out with 20 seconds remaining. Jamestown took a 20-0 lead into the break. Neither team found the endzone in the second half.

Although, Devils Lake did have an 85-yard touchdown called back cause of an illegal shift.

The Jays move to 7-3 on the season. Kick-off Saturday from Shanley is scheduled for 1:30pm.
