Fargo, N.D. (Newsdakota.com) – The new General Manager of the Red River Valley Fair Association Cody Cashman says as of right now both the Fair and Big Iron in West Fargo are still a go for this summer amid Covid-19 concerns.

In a telephone interview with the Ag Central Radio Network, Cashman says the only thing at this point that would close either of those large events would be an order from the state of North Dakota.  Cashman did say that the RRV Fair will no doubt take a financial hit because of all the extra things that would have to be in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19.  The Fair is scheduled to run July 7th to July 12th at the RRV Fairgrounds.  He also said a lot of things will depend on the status of the Coronavirus in the state in the next few weeks.

Cashman, a native of Taneytown, Maryland, has served as the Director of Business Development at the York State Fair and York Expo Center in York, Pennsylvania since 2014.  Cashman will officially be on the job as of June 1.

Here is our full interview with Cody Cashman.  And yes, we did ask if racing will be a fixture again at the RRV Fairgrounds:
