FORKS (NewsDakota.com) – The Hi-Liner boys tennis team will shift its focus to singles and doubles matches today after they lost out of the EDC Dual Tournament on Thursday.

Valley City was the No. 8 seed after beating  Wahpeton in a play-in match. The Hi-Liners dropped their two matches in the dual tournament to Grand Forks Red River and Fargo Davies.

Red River went on to win the dual tournament with a 5-0 victory over Fargo North. Fargo Shanley and Grand Forks Central won state qualifying matches.

Valley City’s doubles team of Dustin Miller and Ricky Paulson appears to be Valley City’s best shot at a state qualifier. The duo received the No. 9 seed in the doubles tournament. Also competing in doubles are Wyatt Reinhart and Brandon Miller.

Iain Horner, Cody Schmidt and Dalton Ondracek are playing in the singles tournament for Valley City. EDC doubles and singles run Friday and Saturday in Grand Forks.
