City, N.D. — Authorities say a rural Barnes County woman escaped serious injury after the vehicle she was driving went into a slew northeast of Kathryn early Friday.

Barnes County Chief Deputy Don Fiebiger says the 33-year old woman slept in a shelter belt overnight following the accident.

Fiebiger says the vehicle was submerged with only 3 inches of the top showing when Barnes County water and rescue team arrived on the scene.

The woman was charged with providing false information, failure to notify authorities about the accident and Driving under suspension.
