City, N.D. — The Barnes County board of commissioners did not award a bid for work on raising Country Road 22 west of Highway one to Sanborn being the lowest bid was 40 percent over the estimated cost of .1 million dollars.
KLJ spokesman Mark Anderson says the county received only two bids for the project. He says one was $2.2 million another was $1.5 million.
Anderson says if the lake drops by a foot this fall Barnes County Highway department crews will be able to complete emergency road work to raise the grade into Sanborn later this summer or late fall.
