(NewsDakota.com) – Valley City’s April Berntson ran her way to a 16th place finish Saturday at the EDC Cross Country Championships, earning herself All EDC honors.

It is the third straight year Berntson has been named All EDC, awarded to the Top 20 runners at the EDC Championships. Berntson’s strong showing helped the Hi-Liner girls team to an eighth place finish Saturday.

Barbara Zubrod was 63rd individually, Jamie Ronning took 67th, Cherrie Varner was 84th and Jessica Ronning took 100th.

On the boys side, Valley City placed 10th as a team. Casey Engelhard led the boys team with a 63rd place finish.

The Hi-Liners wrap up the cross country season Saturday, Oct. 27 at the state meet in Dickinson.
