
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Sheyenne River in Valley City reached a crest of 18.09 feet on Sunday, May 1st. The river is holding steady at slightly below 14 feet. Baldhill dam resource manager Rich Schueneman said the pool level of Lake Ashtabula is above 1268 feet and rising.
Valley City Administrator Gwen Crawford said the cleanup will take a few weeks.
City Commissioner Mike Bishop thanked all the volunteers who helped in this flood fight.
City Commissioner Dewey Magnuson said we have a great bunch of city employees who worked long hours during the flood.
The flood walls in Valley City are being dismantled, but the clean up will take a few weeks to complete according to city officials.
