CITY (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City State basketball teams rolled to a sweep Sunday during a doubleheader at Northern New Mexico, in Espanola, N.M.

The Viking women opened the doubleheader with a 71-40 victory, and the men closed it out with an 82-67 win in the nightcap.

VCSU’s women improve to 9-1 and the men improve to 9-2. They’re both in action again Tuesday for a doubleheader at Johnson and Wales University in Denver, Colo.

After Tuesday, the Vikings are off until after Christmas. VCSU’s women will then go to Naples, Fla. for a pair of games Dec. 28 and 29. The Viking men go to California for the Whittier College Tournament on Dec. 29 and 30.

Both teams are back home again for a doubleheader on Jan. 4 against Minnesota-Morris.
