CITY (NewsDakota.com) – Three days after a gut-wrenching loss to Maple Valley in the Barnes County Tournament championship game, the Hi-Liner boys basketball team takes to the hardwood again Tuesday night for an EDC contest.

Valley City hosts West Fargo Tuesday night, with the varsity beginning at about 7:30 p.m. at the Hi-Liner Activity Center. Valley City is 2-2 this season after posting a 2-1 record at the Barnes County Tournament. Valley City has been led through the first four games by Chase Carpenter and Mason Denholm. Carpenter is averaging 22 points per game and Denholm is scoring 12 per game through the early season.

West Fargo travels to Valley City with a 1-1 record. West Fargo lost to Fargo Shanley 75-56 in their opener, and then last week beat Devils Lake 65-56. Travis Schock scored 27 points for the Packers in that win, including three 3-pointers.

Tuesday’s game is worth one point in the EDC standings. Coverage of Tuesday’s game begins at about 7:15 p.m. on KOVC 1490 and NewsDakota.com. It is Valley City’s last game before Christmas. Next action is Dec. 28 against Jamestown.
