ROCKFORD (NewsDakota.com)  In the first District seven match-up for both teams, the Carrington Cardinals defeated the New Rockford/Sheyenne Rockets by a final score of 53-34.  Carrington, the number eight team in the state right now, improves to 6-0.  NR/S drops to 3-3 overall. 

Leading the way for the Cards was Senior Forward Austin Johnson with 14 points, followed by Senior Guard Taylor Skytland with 12.  Senior Scott Burnham was close to double figures with nine points, Tysen Rosenau had five points off the bench.

The Rockets were led by Senoir forward Josh Edmonson with eight, both Seth Gilles and Chance LaBrie had six. 

Next up for the Carrington boys is Friday, December 28th at Grafton.  Both girls and boys hoops will be in action starting around 2pm.  Coverage can be heard on AM 1600 KDAK for both varsity girls and boys games.

The next broadcast for KDAK will be this Thursday, December 20th as the girls hoops team will play number two Napoleon Imperials starting around 6:45p pregame.
