JAMESTOWN – A week full of tough opponents for Jamestown Jimmies Women’s Volleyball began with a tough night.

Northern State attacked effectively in completing a regular season sweep of the Jimmies Tuesday 25-16, 25-17, 25-13 at Harold Newman Arena.

The Wolves (16-4, 8-4 NSIC) hit .394 for the match, executing 47 kills to Jamestown’s 30.  Natalia Szybinska had 10 kills and two block assists.  Abby Brooks, Linnea Nesheim and Katelyn Schroeder each had nine kills.

Corbyn Menz had 11 kills, a block assist and five digs for UJ (9-10, 4-8).  Ava Mueller had seven kills.  Lily Bertsch scored 13 set assists while Ava Bertsch notched 12.  Momo Minamiya had 10 digs.

While Jamestown hit .259 in the first set with 10 kills, Northern State had 17 kills and hit .400 in taking an 11-4 lead.

NSU was even better in set two, hitting .440 with 15 kills.

In the third, the Wolves hit .359 and had 15 kills and just one error in 39 attacks.

Jamestown will meet another nationally-ranked NSIC team on the road Friday.  The Jimmies will meet Minnesota State in Mankato, Minnesota.
