WAYNE, NE – Wayne State Women’s Soccer built a 4-0 lead Sunday and defeated the Jamestown Jimmies 4-2 at the WSC Soccer Complex.

The Wildcats (6-5-4, 5-5-2 NSIC) led 1-0 at halftime after Paige Pemberton scored in the 14th minute.

Then, Wayne State scored their other three goals within 10 minutes in the second half.  Alaina Sorenson tallied in the 52nd minute, with Reagan Allen scoring just 28 seconds after Sorenson’s goal.  Rachel Davis made the WSC lead 4-0 in the 62nd minute.

Vega Canada struck two late goals for the Jimmies (2-11-1, 2-9-1).  Isabella Martinez set up Canada’s second goal of the season in the 83rd minute.  Canada scored again just three seconds before full time.

Wayne State had 18 shots to Jamestown’s 10.  Each team had eight shots on goal, including four by Canada.  Skylar Lind made four saves in goal for UJ.

The Jimmies, on Senior Day, will host Minnesota Duluth on Friday at 2:30 PM at Rollie Greeno Field at Charlotte & Gordon Hansen Stadium.
