JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A renovation project is now underway at the building shared by the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce, Jamestown Tourism, and the Jamestown Motor Vehicle office. Work is expected to begin this month and construction will continue over the next several months. During this period, Chamber and Tourism staff will temporarily relocate to the lower level of the building for an estimated four months. The DMV will remain upstairs and continue serving the public. All three organizations will maintain normal operations and services. Visitors may notice construction activity and occasional delays, and we appreciate everyone’s patience.
The remodel will create a larger and more functional main-level space for the DMV. The current DMV footprint will be transformed into an improved Visitor and Information Center for Jamestown Tourism and a more welcoming shared lobby for the Chamber. The project also includes new staff office space and an ADA-compliant bathroom upgrade.
Executive Director Emily Bivens says the project strengthens the building and the services offered to the community. “This renovation is an investment in the people we serve. It will allow us to welcome visitors more effectively, support our members with a better workspace, and give the DMV the room it needs to continue providing efficient service. We are excited for what this means for Jamestown.”
The Chamber, Tourism, and DMV will continue to share updates as the remodel progresses. When construction is complete, the organizations look forward to celebrating the improved space.
