VALLEY CITY, ND  (Ryan Cunningham, NewsDakota.com)  The Hi-Liner girls face a stiff test Monday to start Region 1A play.

Kindred brings the fourth-ranked girls team to Valley City for the Hi-Liners first region test for Valley City this year.

The Hi-Liner girls, 2-1 this season after a loss in the Barnes County Tournament championship, were ranked the top Class A girls team last week.  That ranking will be threatened when new polls are released later next week.

Kindred defended their home court twice this season, with a 58-31 win over Barnesville, MN to start the year, then a sound 73-37 defeat of Central Cass to earn a Region 1A win last Thursday.
