BISMARCK – A three-goal comeback by Jamestown Blue Jays Girls Hockey was answered Saturday by a two-goal rally for Century.  Morgan Rieger scored a late winning goal in a 4-3 win for the Patriots at the VFW Sports Center.

Jamestown (4-8-0-1, 4-8-0-0 League) rallied from 2-0 down for a 3-2 lead in the third period before Century evened the game, then won it on Rieger’s goal with 1:54 to play.

Macie Vig scored with only seven seconds left in the first period, then with 1:54 gone in the second period, for the 2-0 lead for the Patriots (9-5-0-0, 9-4-0-0).

A power play goal by Izzy Maddock at 12:25 of the middle period, assisted by Maci Fisher, brought Jamestown within 2-1.

Brooke Dietrich then tied the game with 1:08 left in the second off a setup by Layla Becker.

Layni Bakalar gave the Jays their first lead from Stella Bezler at 7:13 of the third period, but Vig completed a hat trick and evened the game at 3-3 for Century just 1:14 later.

Century had 31 shots to Jamestown’s 17.  Ady Bakalar stopped 27 shots in goal for the Blue Jays.
