FARGO – Four Jamestown Blue Jays remain in contention for places following the first day of the 2026 NDHSAA State Individual Wrestling Championships at the Fargodome.

For the Blue Jay girls, 136-pound wrestler Mackenzie Stoddart and 190-pounder Lauryn Alexander lost their opening matches Thursday, then won in the first consolation round.  Stoddart was pinned in 1:11 by Kendra Azure of Turtle Mountain, then delivered a pin to Emily Smith of Hillsboro/Central Valley at 1:07.  Alexander lost by fall in her first round match by Aryonna Gourneau in 1:40, then pinned Carrington’s Nevaeh Sorensen at 1:44.  Malia Robinson lost her first two matches in the heavyweight class and was eliminated.  Robinson was pinned by Azhanii Martin of Turtle Mountain in 2:49, then lost in sudden victory – 1 to Annah Thorpe of Ellendale/Edgeley/Kulm by a 6-3 score.

Boys 127-pounder Cole Anderson was pinned in his first round match by Gabriel Flores III of Grand Forks Central in 2:30, then won in the first consolation round by pin over Eli Streitz of Fargo Davies in 5:00.  At 189 pounds, Jaxen Morris dropped his first match by pin to Ayden Bohannon of Williston in 2:20.  Morris then pinned Gage McNally of Grand Forks Central in 1:56.  Ryker Stoddart, at 152 pounds, was eliminated after being pinned twice, first by Talen Tuchscherer of Fargo Davies in 3:57, then by Logan Charboneau of Devils Lake in 54 seconds.
