
KANSAS CITY, MO – Jamestown Jimmies Men’s Volleyball suffered a rough start in their new league.
Rockhurst swept Jamestown Friday 25-10, 25-14, 25-12 in the Jimmies’ first Great Lakes Valley Conference match at Mason-Halpin Field House.
Will Sutphen and Quentin Huhman led the attack for Rockhurst (8-9, 1-0 GLVC) with 11 kills each. Sutphen also had three total blocks. Shay Spadaro scored eight kills, four aces, three set assists and six digs.
Jamestown (6-12, 0-1), who managed just 15 kills to 36 for Rockhurst, had four kills from Ladarius Hawkins and three each from Chase Hawkinson and Joshua Crowley. While the Jimmies hit -.029, the Hawks hit .474.
UJ will meet Rockhurst again in Kansas City on Saturday.
