
Two athletes from the Fargo area are finalists for a high school basketball honor.
Davies senior guard Fallon Passanante is a finalist for Miss Basketball and Horace senior guard Carter Evanson is a finalist for Mr. Basketball. Both awards are given by the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters & Sportswriters Association.
Passanante averaged nearly 22 points a game for the 23-4 Eagles, the AA state tournament runner-up. Fallon’s averages were 21.9 points a game, 7.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.3 steals. She hit 87 three-pointers and just under 39 percent of her threes.
Evanson topped AA boys basketball scoring at 25.2 points a game on 54 percent shooting and 66 made three-pointers. Evanson also had per game averages of 4.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.1 steals. The Hawks were 21-5 and went 15-1 in EDC play to win the regular season title.
