Jamestown Blue Jays and Carrington Cardinals Softball are included in the preseason polls of coaches conducted by North Dakota Softball All-Stars.

Jamestown is fifth in the Class A poll.  The Blue Jays return most of their players from a team that was 17-14-1 in 2025.  Williston, who won its first state championship last season, is number one in the poll.

Carrington is 10th in Class B.  The Cardinals made the state tournament for the first time in 2025 and finished 11-11, their first time to have at least a .500 record.  2025 champion Central Cass tops the rankings.  The Squirrels won their seventh state championship last season.

Both the Cardinals and Blue Jays will begin their seasons later this week in the Softball Day in North Dakota event at the University of Jamestown’s Nelson Family Bubble.  Carrington will meet May-Port-C-G/Hatton-Northwood and Hillsboro/Central Valley on Friday.  Jamestown will play Horace and Williston on Saturday.
