
SIOUX FALLS, SD – With a tough season almost at an end, Jamestown Jimmies Baseball suffered another difficult day on Wednesday.
Sioux Falls swept Jamestown in a doubleheader 6-3 and 11-1 at Sioux Falls Stadium.
Game 1: Sioux Falls 6, Jamestown 3
A four-run first inning by Sioux Falls (23-22, 19-13 NSIC) put Jamestown (13-32, 8-24) down fast. Nolan McCaffery (2-5) settled down afterward, but allowed five runs and nine hits in four and two-thirds innings.
Brady Schafer had two run-scoring singles and William Edwards hit two doubles and drove in a run for USF.
A highlight for Jamestown was the first home run for Dallas Cummins as a Jimmie. He hit a solo home run to right field in the third inning. Matty Morin had an RBI groundout and Melvin Maldonado hit a sacrifice fly.
Game 1: Sioux Falls 11, Jamestown 1 (7)
Jamestown (13-33, 8-25 NSIC) lost by run rule for the second time in four days as Sioux Falls (24-22, 20-13) scored in five of the seven innings. Drew Miller hit an RBI single and a two-run homer for the Cougars. Justin Johnson also hit a two-run homer.
The Jimmies scored first on an RBI single by Jacob Thomas in the top of the first inning, but Luke Zimmer (0-8), making his final start for UJ, allowed five runs and six hits in the first three innings.
Jamestown’s final series of the 2026 season will be against Wayne State in Wayne, Nebraska. It will begin with a doubleheader on Friday and coverage will begin at 1:15 PM on The Voice of the Jimmies, Jamestown 107.1.
