
LITTLE FALLS, MN – In their annual trip to a softball event at Little Falls, Minnesota, Jamestown Blue Jays Softball split games on Friday, defeating Staples-Motley 12-7, then losing to Wadena-Deer Creek 8-5.

Sophia Bond led the offense Jamestown (11-8) with a two-run home run, double and single. Kinlee Klettke and Graisyn Traut also drove in two runs each. Brooke Jackson, Megan Jarrett, Avery Graves, Jordan Mikkelson, Klettke, Morgan Scott and Traut each had two hits as Jamestown totaled 18.
Morgan Scott (5-4) struck out five in six innings.
Wadena-Deer Creek 8, Jamestown 5
Three runs in the first inning and five more in the second helped Wadena-Deer Creek to the victory. Jamestown (11-9) scored two and sixth and one in the seventh to close to the final margin.
Graves had three hits for the Blue Jays and Maddie Hoff had two.
Hoff (6-4) struck out nine batters.
Jamestown will play Little Falls on Saturday.
