VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The May Valley City Bluegrass Jam Sessions are scheduled for Saturday, May 9 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Vault Coffee Shop and Arts Center. The 11:00 am – Noon Jam/Class is for beginners looking to learn how to play basic acoustic bluegrass backup in order to participate in a jam session.  Instruments included are six-string guitar, fiddle, mandolin, 5-string banjo, slide Dobro, upright bass,  and ukulele. Demonstration instruments are on hand to try out. The songs mostly use just two chords and the pace is moderate. No charge to participate.

The 1:00 – 5:00 pm open jam session is for musicians with their basic instrumental skills in place. The same acoustic instruments are included as the 11:00 am class except not the ukulele.
