
WATFORD CITY – Maddie Hoff won in the circle and homered and Sophia Bond also homered Monday as Jamestown took a step closer to clinching a top-six WDA berth with a 15-1 win over Watford City in a double counter at Koeser Field.
Hoff (9-4) pitched a five-hit complete game with 13 strikeouts for Jamestown (16-10, 10-8 WDA) and also hit a three-run homer in a five-run fifth inning.
Bond’s home run was a two-run shot in the first inning.
Hoff had three hits and drove in four runs. Jordan Mikkelson had three hits and two RBI. Megan Jarrett had two hits with three driven in. Jamestown piled up 17 hits.
Jamestown will host Legacy in a Tuesday doubleheader at Trapper Lawrence Field, needing one win to assure at least the sixth seed in next week’s WDA tournament. Coverage of game one will begin Tuesday at 4:15 PM on The Voice of the Blue Jays, Jamestown 107.1.
