JAMESTOWN, N.D. (Chamber) – Jamestown Parks and Recreation District recently celebrated the grand opening of the Nickeus Park All-Abilities Playground with a ribbon cutting at the park.

The project added an all-abilities playground, accessible play surfacing, parking, pathways, a restroom and shelter building, and a plaza area that connects the playground with the community building. Recent additions also included an ADA-accessible kayak launch and a pedestrian bridge replaced in partnership with the city of Jamestown.

The work was supported through grants and local donations, with the campaign raising $1.4 Million toward the project. Donors played a key role in helping Jamestown Parks and Recreation match grant funding and move the project forward.

This gives Jamestown a park built for more people and more uses. Children, parents, grandparents, caregivers, and visitors can share the same space with fewer barriers.
Community members are encouraged to visit Nickeus Park and enjoy the new playground and park improvements.
