CITY (NewsDakota.com) – In what is supposed to be the heart of the season, it’s been more than two weeks since the Valley City State softball team has even played a game.

They’ll try to change that this weekend with a road trip to Billings, Mont. Valley City State is scheduled to play Dickinson State in doubleheaders Friday and Saturday in Billings.

The games were originally going to be played in Dickinson, but the latest spring storm dumped more than a foot of snow on Dickinson last weekend making the fields unplayable. The weather forecast for Billings right now calls for highs near 55 degrees with a chance of rain.

Valley City State is 3-17 this season. In their last games on April 3, the Vikings swept Dakota State in a doubleheader. Since returning from their spring trip on March 14, the Vikings have played just four games total due to weather.

Game times are 1 p.m. CST on Friday and Noon CST on Saturday.
