N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Drag marks in the grass outside a bar helped lead Richland County deputies to a burglary suspect.

32 year-old Adam Bush of Brainerd, Minnesota is accused of breaking into Wakeside Bar and Grill near Hankinson, North Dakota last week. Investigators say he pulled a large safe to a kayak that he stole from a lake resident and floated the safe to his car.

Tire marks matched the tread pattern on Bush’s car and there was white powder in the trunk. The powder was linked to fire retardant typically found inside safes.

Investigators say they also discovered wet clothing and shoes in the trunk.
