N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City Council’s Police Committee is recommending that a resolution be passed for Jamestown Police enforcement on the University of Jamestown Campus.

The resolution will allow the police to enforce the 15 mph speed limit on the campus as well as all other city traffic rules.

The University requested the resolution after there was an arrest of a woman on campus for speeding and driving while under the influence. The speeding charge couldn’t be prosecuted because there was no agreement allowing city police to enforce the law on school property. The DUI was charged, as it is a state law.
