CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) VCSU’s Dr. Geraldine Ong, Assistant Professor of Piano and Collaborative Piano will host a Recital and Masterclass on the campus of Valley City State University on Saturday. The Masterclass will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the recital will be held at 4:00 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Masterclass will feature high school students from around the area. If you are interested in participating in the masterclass, please visit music.vcsu.edu. Both events will be held in Froemke Auditorium in Foss Music Hall on the campus of VCSU.

Dr. Ong is a new addition to the Valley City State University music department. Before moving to Valley City, she completed her doctorate degree at University of Houston studying with renowned pedagogue, Nancy Weems.

She served as adjunct faculty at Houston Community College as well as University of Houston. An active solo and chamber musician, she has performed with Da Camera Young Artist, Greenbriar Consortium, Houston Grand Opera Co., and AURA Contemporary Ensemble.

Dr. Ong has also performed concertos with the Houston Symphony, Houston Civic Symphony, New Orleans Civic Symphony, and Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra.
