(NewsDakota.com) – The Blue Jay boys hockey team picked up a 5-1 victory in WDA hockey Tuesday night in Mandan.
After a scoreless first period, the Braves struck for a power play goal early in the second. It would be the only time Mandan would lead on the night, as the Jays rattled off 5 unanswered to win the game.
Jacobi Lux and Brandon Stahlut scored goals 45 seconds apart late in the second, and Jamestown netted three more in the third period to blow it open. Nick Stockert and Brady Hoggarth scored and Lux finished it off with his second of the game.
It was another solid performance for goalie Brian Wenzel, as he made 28 saves. Jamestown improves to 3-4 in the West and 3-6 overall. The win jumps jamestown into a tie for 5th place in the conference with Mandan.
“Anytime you come into this building and get this effort, you walk away a happy coach.” said head coach Matt Stockert. Next up is Minot on Friday night at Wilson Arena, with drop of the puck set for 7:30 on 103.1 the Raven.
