CITY, N.D (NewsDakota.com) Valley City States Aaron Duske has been named the North Star Athletic Associations player of the week.

The Vikings Senior Guard averaged 21 points, eight rebounds and just over an assist as Valley City went 1-1 on the road in Denver over the weekend.

In VCSU’s 76-75 victory over Northern New Mexico, the Buffalo, Minnesota native totaled 18 points along with six rebounds. When the Vikings hit the court the next night against Johnson and Wales, Duske would out preform his play from the previous night by scoring a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds. Despite the strong play for the Valley City senior the Vikings would fall short of victory as Johnson and Wales claimed the win 79-76.

On the Week, Duske shot 46 percent from the field going of 13-for-28, he was 5-for-14 from behind the arc and missed just six free throws on 17 attempts.

Duske and the Vikings return to the court at W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse on Wednesday, January 15th when they host Johnson and Wales in a grudge match. The contest will be broadcast along with the Women’s game starting at 5:15pm on Dakota Country Radio KOVC 1490AM.
