ROCKFORD (NewsDakota.com)  Even during our bitter winter temps, a construction project started last week on US Highway 281 from New Rockford north to the Junction of North Dakota Hwy 15.  The North Dakota Department of Transportation says that drivers should be aware that speeds will be reduced to 25 mph in the construction zone, a width restriction of 12 feet is in place and traffic will be reduced to one lane on the bridge north of New Rockford.  Phase one of the project consists of replacing a bridge structure, earthwork, drainage, signing, striping and lighting. 

NDDOT encourages motorists to slow down in work zones, allow extra distance between their vehicles and the vehicle in front to them, use caution and obey flaggers and posted signs.
