N.D. (AP) – A search committee has narrowed the list of 37 candidates for the presidency at Minot State University.

7 of the eight semifinalists are from out of state. The only in-state candidate remaining is Valley City State University President Steve Shirley.

The list will be narrowed to four or five after video conference interviews in early February. The finalists will be brought to campus for in-person interviews during the week of Feb. 11. The state Board of Higher Education will choose from three finalists in late February.

Current Minot State President David Fuller is retiring in June from the university that has about 3,500 students. He has served since 2004.
