N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Unofficial results from voters in Kulm have approved a .5 million addition to the elementary school in the southeastern North Dakota town.
Business Manager Jerry Kinzler stated that unofficially, about 81 percent who voted Tuesday were in favor of the project. Approximately 440 ballots were cast and the measure required 60 percent approval.
Supporters said the expansion would improve school security, provide a better library and address issues with growth. People that weren’t in favor stated that money that would go towards the addition should go towards renovation on the current school. One non-supporter stated that “If they used the money to renovate the school, they wouldn’t be having these discussions.”
An official count of the votes will be released after the March 31st Board Canvassing.
