CITY,N.D (NewsDakota.com) The Hi-Liners tennis team made their way to state tournament  after a grand send off earlier this morning.

The Hi-Linners caravan made its way down Central Avenue, before jumping on I-94 by way of Main Street in Valley City. On hand to cheer on the Hi-Liners as they departed were students, friends, family, and fans.

a week ago, In the Eastern Dakota Conference Tournament the Hi-Liners captured third place. That means their opening round game today will be against the two seed from the west, Bismarck Century. Play is set to begin today at the Mandan Area Tennis Courts at 1pm.

The two teams will play five matches, 3 singles and 2 doubles, the winner will move on to the winner’s bracket with  the loser falling into the consolation bracket.  Depending on their outcome with Bismarck Century, the Hi-Liners would meet up with either Dickinson or Grand Forks Red River.

After the conclusion of the Team Tournament on Friday, the Hi-Liners will have two doubles teams competing in the Individual State Tournament. As the two seed in the east, Reagan Ingstad and Clarissa Olson will meet up with Jamestowns’s team of Jenna Reed and Bailey Graves, they represent the WDA’s six seed.

The Hi-Liners team of Samantha Coit and Sara Gilbertson (EDC 6 seed) will open up tournament play against Bismarck’s Jenna Andre and Lauryn Andre (WDA 3 seed). Both matches begin at 1:00pm tomorrow.
